NHS Lothian is one of the four major NHS bodies in Scotland, and has been providing expert advice on clinical research for both academic and commercial clinical trials over the last ten years.
NHS Lothian Laboratory Medicine has dedicated staff in place to advise and support researchers through the process of setting up and maintaining clinical studies which utilise NHS Lothian laboratories. The Research Project Lead provides a one-stop support resource for advice on and facilitation of all research samples that are processed through NHS Lothian laboratories.
Working in conjunction with the NHS Lothian Research and Development Office, we offer a streamlined service for researchers in the process of setting up a clinical research study.
All our laboratories have UKAS accreditation to ISO 15189:2012 standards and routinely handle thousands of diagnostic samples every day.
