Any researcher within the University of Edinburgh or NHS Lothian collecting, storing or using human tissue samples for research purposes should contact the Tissue Governance Team for support, advice and guidance to ensure that all regulatory and governance issues are addressed.

ACCORD
ACCORD is a partnership between the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian and is the first port of call for researchers in Edinburgh and Lothian planning a clinical research study.
They provide a streamlined support service for the clinical research community from study inception to study close down and are there to help researchers and organisations meet research governance and regulatory requirements, ensuring all legal, ethical and scientific obligations are fulfilled.
Courses
The Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility Education Programme provides an extensive, multi-professional programme for individuals involved in clinical research. Its focus is to promote and inspire excellence in clinical research - from the inception of a research idea through to the effective dissemination of findings.
The Education Team work closely with NHS Lothian, the University of Edinburgh and other CRF's, academic institutions and industry partners to ensure that the education provided is current, relevant and meets the requirements of local and national clincial research communities.
