Accreditation

Information for Users on UKAS Certificates and UKAS Schedule of Accreditation:

UKAS Certificates are controlled by UKAS. They are changed by UKAS if there is a change in the Certificate Structure; this is why the Certificates state the laboratory's Initial Accreditation date. In January 2024, all UKAS certificates were re-issued by UKAS as the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) was replaced by the Department for Business & Trade (DBT). This required references to BEIS in the footer of the certificates being replaced by DBT. The current, valid certificate is the only one available and is available below in the table 'NHS Lothian Laboratories UKAS Assessments Status'.

UKAS Schedules of Accreditation are controlled by UKAS and these are updated when accredited tests are added or removed.

The Certificates just mentions the lab has accredited tests; the accredited tests are detailed in the Schedule of Accreditation for the specific Laboratory.
