Biomedical Support workers (BSW) and Associate Practitioners (AP) assist the Biomedical Scientists and Clinical Scientists with the routine workloads within the laboratory setting by providing e technical and analytical support in the laboratory setting.
Biomedical Support Workers carry out essential tasks in the laboratory, such as preparing biological samples for analysis, updating written and electronic records, stock control, assisting in the maintenance of laboratory equipment and making sure that the laboratory is a clean and safe working environment.
Associate Practitioners process biological samples using a range of technologies, operate calibrate and maintain specialised equipment, supervise and plan the workload of Biomedical Support Workers and perform Quality audits and report results to Biomedical Scientists
