There are a range of medical staff that work within Laboratory Medicine. These are often practitioners that have chosen to specialise within a specific discipline within one of the functional areas and will liaise with the medical staff in the hospital to ensure that results are understood and the correct treatment is provided.
All practitioners are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).
