The Science Training School was developed to address the issues surrounding the education and training of laboratory staff. With the assistance of Professor David Harrison (former Director of Laboratory Medicine) the Science Training School was established in 2013 with a pilot of 7 students.

The Science Training School recently changed its name to the School of Health, Science and Technology to reflect the wide range of programmes we currently offer.

We offer academic courses to apprentices within both the private and public life science sectors and also a senior phase programme, offering students within S5/S6 in the Lothian region the opportunity to gain a HNC Applied Science.
