Transport arrangements
Useful in: Suspected infection with Naegleria fowleri, Balamuthia mandrillaris and Acanthamoeba species. Available on discussion with the Consultant Parasitologist or SpR at HTD.
Transport as soon as is practicable.
Sample storage arrangements
Store at room temperature.
Special instructions for collection
Samples should be CSF or brain tissue. Please discuss with an Infection Specialist prior to sampling as will require discussion with senior parasitologist at HTD.

Please discuss with an Infection Specialist to arrange this test. Request using paper form.
